⚡ Welcome to SUPER Swifts!

Dear Parents and Carers,

A huge welcome to our Year 2 – SUPER Swifts class page! We are so excited to begin another fantastic year of learning, growing and achieving together.

Here you’ll find key information about our topics, classroom routines and what life in Year 2 looks like. This is such an important year — children build independence, deepen their confidence and really begin to shine as learners.

If you ever have any questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I am very much looking forward to working closely with you this year. Your child is going to absolutely LOVE being part of the SUPER Swifts!

  • Ensure all uniform is labelled with your child’s full name.

  • Fruit is provided daily, but you are welcome to send a healthy snack if preferred.

📚 Reading & Homework

  • Homework is sent home on Friday and should be returned by Tuesday.

  • Spellings or handwriting tasks will be stuck into books — please encourage your child to complete these carefully.

  • A BUG CLUB book will be allocated every Friday and should be returned by Tuesday.

    • Please sign the reading log and add any comments.

    • Children are expected to read their BUG CLUB book weekly (this expectation increases as the term progresses).

  • BUG CLUB and Numbots/TTRS login details are in the front of your child’s homework book.

💬 Communication & Celebrations

We use Class Dojo to award reward points and celebrate positive behaviour, effort and achievements. Stories are shared each day with photos of the fantastic learning happening in our classroom, so you can see your child in action. Please check regularly to stay connected and celebrate their successes with them.

Year 2 is a year where children truly begin to spread their wings — becoming confident, capable and proud of their progress. Thank you for your continued support. Together, we’ll make this a super year for our SUPER Swifts! ⚡🕊✨
