At Bitterne Manor Primary School, our House Teams are a powerful part of our school identity. Every child is welcomed into one of our four proud houses — Champions, Heroes, Superstars or Legends — when they join us, and they remain in that house throughout their time at our school.
This builds loyalty, pride and a strong sense of belonging. Wherever possible, brothers and sisters are placed in the same house, strengthening family connections and shared house spirit.

House points are earned through the individual Dojo points pupils receive in class each day. When children demonstrate excellent effort, positive behaviour, resilience or live out our school values, they are awarded Dojo points — and these points are automatically added to their House Team’s total.

Each week, totals are collected and celebrated by our House Captains, and the winning house is announced in assembly. Their flag is proudly flown above the school for the week — a visible symbol of teamwork, consistency and collective achievement.
Throughout the year, houses compete in additional events and challenges, building excitement and healthy competition across the school. On special competition days, children are encouraged to wear their house colours to show unity and pride.
Our House Teams create energy, motivation and shared responsibility. Every child contributes. Every point matters. And together, they strive to be Champions, Heroes, Superstars or Legends.
