Welcome to Bitterne Manor Primary and Nursery School.
At Bitterne Manor, we want every child to be curious about the world, confident in themselves and excited by what their future might hold.
We are a nurturing and ambitious school where children are known, valued and encouraged to aim high. Our dedicated staff work together to create a safe, happy and inspiring environment in which every child can thrive, achieve and develop a genuine love of learning.
Our vision is simple and ambitious:
Spark curiosity. Build belief. Expand horizons.
We spark curiosity through a rich and ambitious education that encourages children to question, explore, discover and want to know more. We want learning to open up the world for our children and give them the knowledge and confidence to understand it.
We build belief by helping children recognise their strengths and understand that success grows through effort, courage and perseverance. We set high expectations, celebrate progress and encourage every child to believe that they are capable of more than they might first imagine.
We expand horizons by introducing children to new ideas, experiences, people and possibilities. We want them to look beyond what they already know, develop ambition for themselves and leave Bitterne Manor with a genuine sense of hope and excitement about their future.
At the heart of this are our five school values. They describe the qualities we nurture in every child:
Together, our vision and values give children the curiosity to discover, the belief to succeed and the confidence to go beyond what they thought possible.
We are incredibly proud of our school and the strong sense of community and belonging that exists here. We also know that children flourish when school and home work together. Our partnerships with parents, carers and the wider community are therefore an important part of ensuring every child has the opportunities, encouragement and support they need to thrive.
I hope our website gives you a flavour of the warmth, ambition and opportunity that define Bitterne Manor. Most of all, I hope you see a school that believes deeply in its children: in who they are today and in everything they can become.
I look forward to welcoming you to Bitterne Manor.
