The Primary PE & Sport Premium is government funding provided to primary schools to improve the quality and breadth of physical education, physical activity and sport. Its core aim is simple: to help children develop healthy, active lifestyles that last a lifetime.
This funding is used to secure additional and sustainable improvements to our PE and sport provision, ensuring that all primary-aged pupils benefit — now and in the future.

The funding enables us to:
Create and maintain a high-quality environment for PE and sport
Increase participation in physical activity across the school
Improve the confidence, skills and subject knowledge of staff
Broaden opportunities for competitive and inclusive sport
Support pupils’ physical health, mental wellbeing and teamwork skills
Each school determines how best to use the funding to meet the needs of its pupils and community. Our focus is on making strategic decisions that deliver long-term impact.

We prioritise spending that leads to lasting improvements. This means:
Building staff expertise rather than relying solely on external provision
Investing in resources that enhance long-term delivery
Developing systems and structures that strengthen PE across all year groups
Our approach ensures that current pupils benefit immediately, while future cohorts continue to experience high-quality physical education and sporting opportunities.
