  • School Closed

    Mon 04 Jan 2021 Head

Further to the government directive tonight our school will now be closed to all pupils except for vulnerable children and children of keyworkers. As the lockdown has only just been announced, we have not yet received full guidance as to exactly what the key worker categories or vulnerable children will be.

For the time being, if your child was attending school during the lockdown in March, you are able to send them in from tomorrow. We will review this as and when further guidance is made available.

If your situation has changed since the first lockdown and you feel that your child is now entitled to attend school during lockdown please contact us and we will do our best to help.

We have begun preparing online learning for this situation so you can already find some learning available on the newly updated website on your child's class pages and the home learning section. Tomorrow, teachers will begin expanding this and moving all learning online.

We will be in touch again tomorrow with further information. Please bear with us as we move into this next stage.

  • Pedestrian Bridge Repairs

    Tue 15 Jan 2019 Head

There is a project to improve the pedestrian bridge between Athelstan Road and Quayside Road as part of a quietway cycle route linking Northam River Bridge and Bitterne Village.

The works will result in total closure of this bridge over the rail line for a period of up to three weeks – this will impact on how people will walk to Bitterne Manor School. A diversion route will be in place to direct pedestrians and cyclists via Athelsatan Road, Bitterne Road West and Rampart Road (ie the main road long way round).

The works are scheduled to start on the 18th Feb and will last three weeks.
