Wider Curriculum

In Science, we are learning about States of Matter and, particularly, solids, liquids and gases. We have already learnt about what the particles would look like if we could see them and have started to sort examples of solids liquids and gases. We are also going to use this as a context for some of our working scientifically objectives, such as: asking relevant questions and using different types of enquiry to answer them and recording findings using drawings and labelled diagrams. Keep an eye on the blog for photos!

In Art, we are learning to use shape, colour and line to create Autumn pictures. We have learnt to use colours to create different effects and emotions. We have also looked at some famous Autumnal art work and considered how the artist wanted to make people feel.

We are currently alternating PE sessions between cricket and dance. On Cricket days, we have been learning about bowling accurately and the skills needed to bowl on target. Next, we will be practising our batting and catching skills. In PE, we are choreographing and performing our own dances to Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. We are learning to use height and space effectively to show mood at different points of the song.

PSHE and Computing

In PSHE, we are learning about positive friendships, including friendships online. We have discussed what we look for in a friend and what makes us a good friend to others. We have also been learning about ways to protect ourselves and stay safe online.
