Week beginning Mon 18th May

Monday 18th May

Hey Rooks!  What a beautiful day it has been!  I woke up super early today to go for a run not far from where I live.  It was nice to get out and I ran a few laps around a football pitch.  I have spent as much time as possible sitting outside with my laptop to enjoy the lovely sunshine.  Just like the rabbits, I had my own umbrella otherwise I would have melted.  Although I do find that too much sun makes me feel really tired, if I was anything like Suki I would have been asleep on the grass all day.

I went to the allotment although much later, about an hour before sunset, so the heat was not as strong.  The plants needed a good watering, they were looking very thirsty.  I will make sure I get up really early tomorrow, do some exercise and then water the plants before I get to work.

Enjoying a rest on my allotment at the weekend

Tuesday 19th May

Hey Rooks!  It has been another fabulous day!  I have spent yet another day outside in the garden on my laptop and losing count of the amount of ice lollies I am eating! I must admit, I am getting used to it and I may see if I am allowed to move the classroom outside when we eventually come back.  What do you think?  Do you think we should?

I had to give the plants extra water today as they were very dry.  There are lots of flowers growing in the greenhoue that I want to plant outside but at the moment it is a little too hot.  Daisy is not a fan of this heat either, she spends most of her time in her hutch, which I cleaned earlier today.  Sometimes she is very fussy, she has already moved around her 'furniture'!

Wednesday 20th May

Hey Rooks!  Another glorious day on the south coast! I have had such a busy and eventful day today. After I had been for a morning run, I drove to school as I had a little bit of work to do.  It was interesting seeing the changes that are going on ready for when the school re-opens on 1st June.  Although it is only Year R, 1 and 6 that are coming back, hopefully it won't be long before everybody else can return.  Fingers crossed!

Also...you won't believe what else happened!  I was interviewed on the radio for 5 minutes which was a little strange but also lots of fun.  It was about the experience of teaching during these strange times and what our school has been up to.  It was certainly an interesting thing to do!

Another hot day meant I had to go to the allotment and carry on watering the plants.  They are looking good though, I just cant wait to eat everything!

Why do animals love cardboard boxes?!

Thursday 21st May

Hey Rooks!  It has been so hot today, there were times when I thought I was going to melt!  I was in school which was nice and great to catch up again with the teachers and children.  It is starting to feel normal by coming into school once a week which is really strange as it shouldn't.  Hopefully things will start changing soon but we will have to keep our fingers crossed.

It is my mum's birthday today so I had to call her and sing 'Happy Birthday'!  She does not live too far away and I have not seen her since March but it was nice to catch up and find out all the gossip about what is going on in sunny Portsmouth (where I am from!).

The cats and rabbits have been sleeping a lot lately, I guess the heat is too much for them.  To be honest, all I want to do is fall asleep at the moment!

Friday 22nd May

Hey Rooks!  What a windy day!  I tried to sit outside in my garden earlier to eat my lunch, the wind nearly blew me next door.  I did manage to go for a walk in the New Forest which was lovely, it was my first time anywhere other than school and the allotment since March!  It was just nice to have a lot of space and walk around although the wind tried to ruin my fun!

Well, it has definitely been strange times and thankfully there may just be light at the end of the tunnel.  It is half term so I really hope you have a lovely week off and find lots of fun things to do.  I will be checking my emails daily so feel free to get in touch.  Stay safe and I'll carry on with the diary on 1st June.
