This half terms topic would have been all about the STONE AGE!!! :)

So below I am going to add tasks and activities below that will help you learn all about this fun and exciting topic! :)

Jump back in time to the Stone Age!

Your first task is to find out about the Stone Age! :)

Below are some resources and videos to help you with your research! Once you have had a read through and discovered some facts about this ancient period of time can you then record some of this wonderful new knowledge?

How you lay out this information is up to you. Here are some suggestions for you...

  • A poster
  • A leaflet
  • Bullet points
  • A mind map
  • A fact file

 

Pretend you are teaching someone for the first time all about the Stone Age! :) You may even be able to create your poster on a computer?

It looks like you have been doing some incredible research on the STONE AGE and found some fantastic facts about this time in history!

 

Now I would like you to use these fantastic facts to create a Stone Age time line of your very own!

Try and place the events in the order that they happened.

In our book The Stone Age Boy, he learns a lot of new skills!

  • How to make a fire.
  • How to make and use tools.
  • Preparing and using animal skins
  • Preparing and cooking food.

 

I would like you to pick one of these 4 topics and collect your own research on it. Once you have gathered a range of facts I would like you to present your new knowledge by creating a poster! You can design it to be as creative and eye catching as you like! :) You may even want to create your poster on the computer? :)

 

I can not wait to see what you produce! :)

Compare and Contrast!

I hope you enjoyed the last task I set you! I am sure your brains are now bursting with amazing knowledge and facts about the Stone Age! You have all been working incredibly hard and I am so proud of you! :)

 

For this weeks topic task I would like you to COMPARE AND CONTRAST! This means I would like you to think about what is similar about how the Stone Age people lived and how we live today and what is different between the two lifetimes! :) I have added some points below for you to consider...

  • The type of house we live in.
  • Compare how they found and cooked food.
  • What type of jobs do we have compared to what they have?
  • Are our clothes the same?
  • Where do we get light and heat from and where did the Stone Age people get there's from?

 

Use the research links we have been using from previous tasks to help you with this task. I have also added a template for you to use below if you like, or you can create your own!

Hey Skylarks! :) I hope you have all had a lovely half term and are all safe and well! This half term's topic is called GREEN FINGERS! It is all about nature and plants and is my favourite topic! :) I am excited for us to completing some very exciting activities!

Hey Skylarks! Welcome to our Week 2 activity... PLANT POEMS! :)

 

Below are some examples of poems about plants and flowers for you to have a read of! Pay attention to the language use to describe the plant and the rhyming words that have been used.

 

Think back to our poetry writing in class and use the below poems for inspiration to write your very own PLANT OR FLOWER POEM. Use that wonderful knowledge of descriptive vocabulary to create a beautiful piece of writing!

As we have spent the last couple of week learning a lot about plants and what they need to grow and survive I would like you to put this wonderful new knowledge to good use!

 

For this week's activity I would like you to write a set of instruction about how to plant a grow a seed! :)

 

I have added some examples below for you to have a look at and I have also added an image refreshing your memory on the key features of instruction writing! Remember to include all those wonderful new facts you have learnt to make the best set of instructions! :)
