Swifts Resources

Welcome to the SUPER Swifts home learning page! Here you will find lots of activities for subjects learnt in School. At a time like this where it's a little strange and hard to adjust to routine, just know that I'll be here to help in anyway that I can. May it be through posting activities, top tips, sending MARV messages or seeing what fab things the children have been up to through the class email - I'll do my best! #bettertogether

Hello SUPER Swifts!

I am over the moon to be having you back, it's been far too long! The Swift team have really missed all of your smiling faces smiley

I realise that you might be feeling a bit unsure about coming back to school but do not fear.  We've been through a very strange time and you have been use to being with your family at home for what feels like forever.  It all feels rather strange for us too, but we will be doing lots of activities to help ease us all back in gradually!

We are looking forward to hearing about what you have enjoyed, as well as what you may have found hard about being at home for such a long time and finding out about all the things that have happened since you have been away.  Such as birthdays and other celebrations, we can't wait to hear all about it!

When you come back to school, you'll notice that our classroom layout is a little different.  You will each have your own desk, which we will keep the same every time you are in school.  On your desk you will find your tray which will contain all of the exercise books you will need as well as a pack of your own stationary.  This includes: a pencil, a rubber, a sharpener, a glue stick and colouring pencils.  You will keep this by the side of you throughout the day so everything is easy to get hold of.   You will also be allowed to keep your water bottle with you too so please bring this in.  These measures will prevent the sharing of resources and help to keep everything nice and clean and safe for all of us!

Here is a brief outline of what our day in Year 2 will look like:

- Arrive at school between 8:45am - 9.00am and come straight into our classroom

- Early morning work & Maths task

- Snack time - please bring in some fruit or a healthy snack

- Playtime will be from 10:25am - 10:35am on the playground

- Reading & English tasks

- Lunch will be from 11:30am - 12:30pm

(You can bring in your own packed lunch or choose from a M or V option packed lunch at school)

- Science / Art tasks

- Afternoon Playtime will be from 2.05pm- 2.15pm

- P.E. / Activities

- Home time will be from 3:10pm

(Departing from our classroom door leading outdoors)

On Tuesday group A will have their PE time and on Thursday group B will have their PE time. These sessions will be towards the end of the afternoon so I would like you to come to school in clothes appropriate for doing sport on those days.  This means that we don't need to worry about changing or storing kit.  You will be going home straight afterwards so will be able to freshen up then!

Unfortunately, you will not be able to bring items to and from school, so please refrain from doing this.  In terms of reading books, you will be able to read some books at school.  Each group will have a specific box to choose from.  There's lots of exciting books to choose from, I promise!

At break and lunch times we will continue to stay in our little bubble where you will be allowed to use part of the playground as your allocated space safely.

If you have any concerns or questions about our new routines, please feel free to email me at our class email and I'll do my very best to answer them.

To help ease you back into school life we will be taking part in a range of activities which will focus on key skills from across the curriculum (English/SPAG, Maths, Art, Science and Topic skills) for those two days.  Additional tasks will be posted for you to continue with on the days that you are not in school.

If you are unable to come back do not worry as I'll continue to add tasks to our class page. This will consist of three Maths tasks and three English tasks.   Alongside this, I'll add other activities and website links to keep you going.  Just look out below!

I would still LOVE to see what you are all up to so please keep sharing via our class email I'll still keep up my daily diary too so keep an eye on what I get up to each day!

Week beginning: 13th July

No more Maths & English tasks will be added as this is the last week.

However, some Summer and End of Year tasks are posted in the star below. Access these NOW!
