Our Curriculum

Our Home Learning page consists of a structured routine that is similar to one in School. Below are daily stars with activities linked to our learning journey. In these stars you'll find:

* A timetable

* Interactive videos posted to guide you

* Online activities / tasks

A typical day will look like this...

A good morning from me with a positive affirmation. Straight into a wake & shake to get our brains and bodies moving. A Phonics task which will include a video and task. Followed by a snack and break. Afterwards, we'll go straight into Maths which will be led by a video introducing the concept for that day if needed. There'll be a 'Story Time' where I'll post a video of myself reading a book. This will lead nicely into our English session. You'll be pleased to know that after that it'll be lunch time! There will be a cross curricular task for the afternoon session which will be either Art, P.E, Science or Topic based.

On Fridays, or shall I say 'FRI-YAYS' I will be posting quizzes relating to learning that week. This will be our 'FREAKY Friday!' This is the perfect chance to take part in a FUN and interactive quiz with yours truly. The winner will receive a SPECIAL and personalised well done from me!

Keeping Track...

Children that are in school will be doing the same learning as those children at home. For those at school we are collecting their work in the form of a book to keep track of all the wonderful things that they are doing. It would be great if you could do the same. Children can do their work in a book or on the sheets provided which are then put in a folder- whatever works for you! When children are able to come back they can bring in their wonderful work and share this with me. smiley

Motor Skills

Children's motor skills are essential for their development and education. Whether it be fine motor skills to help with pencil grip or gross motor skills to develop their balance and co-ordination, the children need activities and exercises to continue working on these skills.

In the pages below you will find a variety of activities that can be completed at home with little to no equipment to keep the children active and working on these fundamental skills. They do not need to be done daily but can be done however often you feel they need to! During school we complete activities like these before we do writing, as morning jobs or during our PE sessions. Feel free to dip in and out and use or not use whatever you feel appropriate.

Phonics

As phonics is so essential, it is important that the children engage with some form of phonics learning or activities everyday. If you would like any more on phonics I have created all of the children their own account on PhonicsHero. This is a website where the children can play games and complete activities in order to release the super heroes and capture the bad guys! We have trialled it with the children still in school and had amazing feedback and lots of smiles!

Please find the website below.

Reading

Just like phonics, reading is an essential part of a child's development. As well as our daily story time, make sure to check out BugClub regularly. This gives the children a chance to read books and answer questions to earn rewards and play games! I will be logging on daily to have a look at how the children are doing and making sure they don't run out of books!

If you need their login details again then just email me and I can send them over to you!

*BugClub may only work when logged into on Google Chrome but if you have any issues let me know.*

Talk To Teachers

#TTT

Have no fear, I am here! I will be available throughout the sessions to help guide, give advice and support in anyway that I can. You can reach me through the class email account - robins@bitternemanor.net. Please feel free to email me at anytime and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I'd love to hear from you and see the wonderful work that children have done so please do share.

Keep an eye on your MARV Me apps as I will be giving feedback on work shared and rewarding children through the MARV me badges. This is a great way to keep track of all the fabulous learning that is happening at home!
