Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Some pupils will continue to be supported on a day to day basis to learn to tolerate delay when needs are not immediately met, and to understands that it is not always possible for them to do or receive what they would like.  This is not surprising after many children have been at home with an adult who is able to respond to their needs.  The classroom is a very different environment and is shared with many more children who also have needs and wishes.

We will continue to encourage pupils to solve problems independently.  Most children are confident to tell an adult if there has been a disagreement between themselves and others, but now we would like them to try to resolve these themselves and also learn to compromise with others without adult interaction.
