Got more empty toilet rolls than you know what to do with? I don't know about you, but my house is overrun with them! Here are some instructions to turn them into a cute little ladybird. Have a go and send me the results!

If you fancy it, you could try and make different creatures with them too - perhaps a bumble bee or a butterfly?

We are currently living through history! I have attached a time capsule diary with some activities for you and your child to do together. It is a lovely opportunity to have a discussion about what is going on in the world and how you are feeling about it. It will be interesting to look back on in ten years time!

If you would like to bury a time capsule in the garden, I have also attached some ideas for that. I can't wait to see what you get up to!

DT - A Teddy Bear's Picnic

Draw and label a healthy, balanced lunch to take on a teddy bear's picnic.
Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • a sandwich
  • a salad
  • a fruit kebab
  • some cheese/yogurt

Ask your parents if you can have a go making something (with their supervision of course!) and take it outside to eat with your favourite teddy bear. I would love to see some photos.

Art - Vincent van Gogh.

Using your tablet or laptop, have a look at some of Vincent van Gogh's paintings. What do you like about them? What don't you like? What questions would you ask about his work? Which of his paintings is your favourite?

When you have done that, there is some information below about his famous bedroom painting. Have a read of this together and then create your own picture of your bedroom. You can use pencils, pens, crayons, chalk, collage, paints....whatever you like!

I can't wait to see them!

Science - Make a boat!

To link in with the floating and sinking experiment on the Science page, I would love it if you could design a boat to float across your bath or sink. Think really carefully about which materials you might use (an old drink bottle? corks? lolly sticks? paper?) and which will float the best. Draw your design, build your boat and then test it out! It can be as simple or complex as you like. Please send me a photo - I would love to see your creations!

There are some photos below to give you some ideas. Enjoy!
