Our role play this half term will be a Fairytale world, which includes a quiet place to read, write stories, practice key words, dress as characters and hide in the dark cave!
Our power of reading text is ‘Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Book’ which links lots of well-known fairytales together.
Focusing on the 4 countries in the United Kingdom in Geography.
Designing then building a castle out of junk modelling in Art.
We are going to read a narrative called ‘Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Book’ in English this half term, planning and writing posters.
We will also be exploring newspaper reports and making our own ones based on the evidence we collect about a fairytale!
This half term we will continue to name and recognize 2d and 3D shapes which we will apply to build our castles.
We will then be learning the skill of multiplying ( Lots of) and dividing (Sharing) and we will be applying this across the curriculum.
Science: Animals including humans; Identify and name animals e.g. carnivore, reptiles.
IT: Control devices
Geography: The 4 countries in the United Kingdom.
P.E: Gymnastics and core PE skills
Art: To make a castle.
HOW CAN YOU HELP AT HOME?
Please continue to read with your child at home, making sure you child is reminded to change their book in the morning at school. Please read and expose your child to lots of different fairytales and recognise why they are fairytales.
Homework will continue to be sent home on a Friday and collected in the following Wednesday. Spellings will also be tested on a Friday and the new ones will be sent home on a Friday.
