What are we learning about?
This half term the children will work towards an end of year presentation for parents as a celebration of their time at Bitterne Manor. This may involve learning and rehearsing scripts, songs and dance sequences.
This will be based on rehearsal and performance of playscripts linked to the end of year presentation. English will also be linked to our class book, ‘The Savage’. We will write in role and complete diaries and letters in character. The children will also complete a transition unit in preparation for Year 7.
The children will develop their ability to apply their knowledge and understanding to mathematical problems. They will learn to collect, present and interpret data, including through the use of ICT.
Music: Learning and performing songs.
Science: continuing the investigation of living things.
ICT: Google ‘Sketch Up’ allows pupils to create and share 3D models of building and other objects. Children can use these tools – alongside Google Maps – to develop an area of Southampton.
The children will visit Paulton’s Park as an end of year treat and will have the opportunity to visit their secondary schools.
How you can help at home:
Please support your children by helping them prepare for their end of school project, whether that is learning lyrics or lines and by making sure they attend their transition day.
